Service descriptionIHS manages and supports QUT’s on-campus student computing facilities. Each campus has a range of facilities with at least one 24 hour computing laboratory on Gardens Point, Kelvin Grove, and Carseldine Campuses. The computers in the central labs have general software for student use, but some labs may also have more faculty specific software. Faculties can request specific software to be installed. Lab software requests are best submitted at the end of each semester before final exams. The software request deadline is usually 4 weeks before the start of each semester. ChargesThere is no charge to use student computing laboratories, although requests for faculty-specific software may attract a charge. A charge of $85 an hour (minimum of 14.5 hours) is applied to install additional software to lab images after the software request deadline.
