About Technology Support at QUT

QUT's Technology Support teams provide support for the University's computing environment, including IT devices and applications. We work with the IT Helpdesk and other areas of the University to respond to your requests and resolve technical faults.

How we can support you

Technology Support can assist you by:

• Installing and configuring new equipment and applications
• Resolving faults with IT devices, inlcuding PCs, laptops, printers and PDAs
• Indentifying training requirements
• Assisting with asset sighting (for stocktake purposes)

New initiatives

• Increased focus on remote support
• Advanced Macintosh training for support teams
• Transition to consistent management of Faculty computer labs

Our service commitment

As part of our commitment to providing quality service, we will:

• Be prompt, professional and courteous
• Contact you in advance to arrange a meeting time
• Provide updates on the progress of your request(s)

We ask that you:

• Always log your requests through the IT Helpdesk
• Indicate the best time for us to contact you
• Be courteous and polite with our staff

Service limitations

At the beginning of each Semester, our number of requests increases by 15%. As we are operating at full capacity, we ask that you please be patient during these peak periods.

How to request assistance

If you experience difficulties accessing or using QUT's computing environment, please report your problem to the IT Helpdesk:

• You will be given an incident number
• Technology Support will contact you to arrange its resolution
• We may need to access your computer at your office, or remotely
