AV Support offers a range of services to assist university activities in General Teaching Spaces.

AV Classroom Support

AV Classroom support offers a broad range of call-out and equipment maintenance services for audiovisual equipment in the Division or Faculty-owned teaching spaces, offices and administrative areas. Fees are charged for this service unless under a maintenance contract.

Support also includes advice and training on the use of AV equipment.

AV Production Support

AV Production Services are available to support the development and production of basic audiovisual resources for teaching which include:

• Lecture video recording
• Lecture audio recording
• Video and audio conferencing

Recordings can be made available in a range of formats, e.g.:

• CD-ROM
• DVD
• or converted for digital streaming.

AV Conference Support

AV Support Services offers QUT staff support for conferences held both on and off campus. Services include:

• Equipment Installation
• Technical Assistance
• Basic Consumables

Conference support is only available off-campus outside normal teaching periods (i.e. Not during Semester 1 or 2)

AV Equipment Loans

A wide range of portable audiovisual equipment is available for loan from the AV Support counter on each campus. Loan equipment available includes:

• Digital cameras
• Portable PA systems with radio microphones
• Portable CD/cassette players
• MP3 recorders
• Laser pointers
• Infrared mouse
• VHS/MDV video recorders
• DVD players and various display devices (monitors, data projectors)

Staff members can hire AV equipment without charge if it is to be used at QUT and is for use within a teaching environment with students enrolled at QUT. Charges will apply if equipment is not hired for use within a teaching environment (i.e. Consultancy work).

Please note:

• The normal loan period is 24 hours
• Bookings must be made at least 1 working day in advance
• Bookings are made via e-mail, to the AV office on the campus where the equipment will be collected
• A valid QUT staff ID card must be presented to AV staff when collecting booked items
• Loaned equipment must be returned to the same AV office from which it was borrowed

AV Consumables

AV has a range of consumables for sale including:

• VHS Tapes
• DVD or CDROM discs
• Mini DV tapes
• Batteries
